This brief is based on the theme of 'Day of the dead' or 'Dia de los Muertos', a holiday celebration by Latin Americans that focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. During this time there are lots of amazing offerings, bright colours and inspiring things going on. This brief is simple and is all about 'usable' items.

The brief
Using themes and inspiration gathered from traditional day of the dead celebrations, create TWO items. They do not have to be matching items but can be if you wish. Items must clearly link to the theme and have a clear use. By this I mean they must be usable rather than just decorative. I thought I would say this to make it a little more interesting. Also, this way we actually have things we can keep and use rather than just decorative items. Be creative about how your item can be used, either create your own use (this could be fun especially if your item doesn't quite turn out as planned) or stick to a classic (eg box or necklace) Items must be no bigger than A4. All items must come with a small 'How to use' leaflet, even if the use of the object is obvious, this could still be quite fun! Any medium can be used, paper crafts, textiles, paint, mixed media or even cooking! Anything you like! Lets go! :)
ALL ITEMS MUST BE SIGNED SOMEWHERE, BIG OR SMALL, BY THE ARTIST!! :))
